Located in Zavkhan province in western Mongolia, Ulaagchin Khar Lake National Park was taken as special protected areas under the category of National Park according to the Resolution No.06 of the State Great Khural of Mongolia on 14th of January 2010.
Khar Lake occupies a dale in the Khangai Mountains to the east from the Great Lakes Depression. The Burgastai River which is covered with sand and has its own unique rocky cliffs on top of a plateau with a height of 2733 meter high above the sea level located in back of Senjit Rock.
Khar Lake is one of the top tour destinations to see the wonderful joining of a fresh water lake and sand dunes in Zavkhan province. It’s surrounded by the sand dunes of ” Bor Khyar” that literally dive into its waters.
